PRESIDENT FERRERO TO KICK OFF NSU'S SHUTTLE SERVICE AT 10:00 A.M.
PRESS CONFERENCE MONDAY, OCTOBER 2; NEW LOGO TO BE REVEALED

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL- Nova Southeastern University president, Ray Ferrero, Jr., will launch NSU's new "Wave and Ride" shuttle bus service and unveil the university's new logo in a 10:00 a.m. press conference this upcoming Monday, October 2, in front of the Horvitz Administration Building.

A 20-minute program featuring Ferrero; executive vice president for administration George Hanbury; senior student affairs administrator Tammy Walsh; and undergraduate student government president Herman Copola will kick off the shuttle launch, followed by a VIP tour of NSU in a shuttle hosted by Ferrero. NSU students, faculty, and staff members-as well as the general public-are invited to attend NSU's shuttle launch.

NSU's shuttle service, featuring four buses to service the 40 permanent buildings on its 232-acre campus, will actually begin that morning at 7:00. A fixed-route transit circulator system consisting of one two-directional route will be running on the NSU campus weekdays from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., picking up passengers from various locations throughout the university. The route will run approximately 1.7 miles east to west and 2.2 miles west to east. It will connect residential halls, classrooms, offices, athletic and recreational facilities, the campus health center, parking garages, and parking lots. The 16-passenger, American Disability Act-compliant, NSU campus shuttles will be easily identified by their silver and purple color with NSU's new logo and graphics.

With four buses, the frequency should work out to be every five to seven minutes. Although the buses will have a designated path to follow around the university, there are no set bus stops on the campus. Rather, those wishing for a lift are encouraged to "wave and ride" as the buses make their respective rounds, or greet the buses in front of university buildings.

There will be no service during the summer months for approximately 90 days.

The new logo replaces the school's previous one that has been in use since Nova University's and Southeastern University's merger in 1994. It features the initials NSU with a sunrise graphic above it.
