NSU is Selected as a Partner in Distance Education
With US. Army & PricewaterhouseCoopers

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Nova Southeastern University has been named as one of 29 universities nationally as a partner with the U.S. Army & PricewaterhouseCoopers to provide distance education for an estimated 80,000 soldiers over the next few years.

Secretary of the Army Louis Caldera announced on December 14 that the Army has awarded a $453 million contract to PricewaterhouseCoopers. This initiative places the Army at the leading edge in distance education.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the Army and the higher education members of the eArmyU consortium," said Ray Ferrero, Jr., President of Nova Southeastern University (NSU). " NSU has long been a pioneer in distance education and the use of technology to deliver quality programs wherever and whenever students need to be educated. Being selected to join eArmyU, shows that NSU continues to be recognized as a leader in providing e-learning solutions for students worldwide."

"This cutting-edge, cyberspace program will provide unprecedented educational opportunities for our soldiers," said Caldera. "It reinforces the Army's long-term commitment to investing in its people. This strategic alliance with PricewaterhouseCoopers and its unique team opens a new doorway to personal growth - allowing America's soldiers to earn postsecondary degrees or technical certifications online anytime, anywhere, anyplace, while they serve."

"PricewaterhouseCoopers brings unequaled experience in managing large, global, and complex programs as well as acknowledging expertise in technology development and in e-learning strategies," Caldera said. "Together, we will inspire educated, Information Age-savvy soldiers to succeed in the high technology missions the Army will be asked to perform in the 21st century."
