Student Services Fee Information

In an effort to enhance services offered to our students and improve their health, safety, welfare, and technological advancements, the NSU Board of Trustees has approved an equitable university-wide student services fee.

The new student services fee will take effect July 1, 2005, and will amount to $250 per semester for every student taking multiple courses of four credits or more, not to exceed $750 per year. Students taking a single course of three credit hours or less or students taking one four-credit hour course will pay $125 per semester, not to exceed $375 per year. Students taking quarterly programs will have their fees adjusted so they pay the same as semester students. The new fee will include the technology fee most students are presently paying, as well as support programs and initiatives critical to improving the overall services to NSU students. Students who want to determine exactly which fees they are now paying will be supplanted by the new student services fee may contact any university associate in the One-Stop Shop of the Horvitz Administration Building, call 800–541-6682 or (954) 262-7300 locally, or email nsuinfo@nsu.nova.edu.

We hope that by notifying students in advance, they will be able to engage in proactive financial planning and budget resources accordingly. For students who anticipate receiving financial aid, this fee will automatically be included in the awarding of the overall aid package, since it has been adopted by the trustees, and therefore, will not result in an additional out-of-pocket expense. NSU staff members will do their best to assist students in including this student services fee in financial planning, even collecting the fee in installments, when necessary.

NSU will continue to provide high-quality educational programs of distinction to every student. The university’s commitment is to prepare students for lifelong learning and leadership roles in business, liberal arts, science, and the professions.
