NSU Partners with Girl Scouts to Offer Pre-College Experiences

NSU has partnered with the Girl Scouts of Broward County to offer a group of high school students the opportunity to experience college life for a day.

On Friday, Oct. 7, NSU will host “Be a College Student for a Day” on the main campus. Girls will experience a day-in the-life of today’s active under-grads – hearing directly from current female students who are studying in a variety of educational areas. Girls will visit the dorms and be introduced to other on-campus hot spots to mix with the student body, ask one-on-one questions about social life, study habits, off-campus employment, time management, etc.

NSU faculty members and administrators will share information on careers of interest, growing professions for women both locally and nationwide, as well as a frank discussion on the college admissions process and the ins and outs of financial assistance.

For information, call Shanika Taylor, Ed.D., program professor in the Fischler School of Education and Human Services, at 954-262-7844.
