Huizenga School Partners with North Broward Hospital District
The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship is pleased to announce its academic partnership with the North Broward Hospital District (NBHD). Leaders of the NBHD are now eligible to earn their Executive MBA degree from the Huizenga School. With the final planning stages of the NBHD corporate cohort underway, the Huizenga School is preparing for classes to begin next month. The newly developed cohort will allow qualified NBHD managers to take classes from the Huizenga School on site at the NBHD headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. This will be the second MBA cohort offered to NBHD leaders. The first cohort class graduated in the winter of 2004. A survey of the 2004 graduating class indicated that the exit competencies and overall quality of the program were second to none. The MBA cohort will be limited to fifteen top NBHD managers, directors and leaders, although over 30 qualified NBHD employees applied for the program. All candidates must pass a stringent approval process, which was set up jointly by the NBHD and the Huizenga School. Approval requisites include an essay explaining the employee’s current management experience, reasons why an MBA will support their career goals, and the personal benefits of developing as a manager. All tuition costs will be funded by the NBHD.
