NSU Designated as an NSA National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education

The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) has designated NSU as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education for academic years 2005–2008. Official letters of notification from NSA are being sent to Ray Ferrero, NSU president; Jeb Bush, governor of Florida; members of Florida’s congress; and appropriate congressional committees. An NSA press release is also in coordination and should be posted on NSA’s Web site, http://www.nsa.gov/ia/academia/acade00001.cfm, within a few weeks.

NSA’s goal in establishing such centers is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance (IA) and producing more professionals with IA expertise in various disciplines. For more information, go to NSA’s Web site for the Centers of Academic Excellence: http://www.nsa.gov/ia/academia/caeiae.cfm.
