Paula Anderson-Worts, D.O., of College of Osteopathic Medicine, Among Honorees at International Women’s Day Celebration

In celebration of International Women’s Day in Broward County, Partners for Women will present, “Women Leading Change in Public Health,” on Saturday, April 9, 2:00–4.30 p.m., in the Liberal Arts Building Auditorium of Florida Atlantic University’s, Davie campus: 2912 College Avenue. The event will honor local women who have made significant contributions to public health, including NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty member Paula Anderson-Worts, D.O.

The event, sponsored by Partners for Women, will feature keynote speaker Jacqueline Cattani, Ph.D., director of the Center for Biological Defense, University of South Florida, who will speak on “International Challenges to Public Health: Emerging Diseases and Bioterrorism.” Sue N. Gunzberger, Broward County Board of County Commissioners, will provide the welcoming remarks. Additionally, Liz Harbaugh, a junior at NSU’s Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, will give a brief presentation on Margaret Sanger and her contribution to women’s health in the 20th century.

Partners for Women consists of the American Association of University Women, Fort Lauderdale Branch; Florida Atlantic University, Women’s Studies; Nova Southeastern University, Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences; Broward Community College; National Council of Hispanic Women, Florida Chapter; and the United Nations Association of USA, Broward County Chapter.
