The deadline to submit entries to the Name the NSU Mascot/Nickname Contest is now May 1.

Sponsored by the School Pride/School Spirit Task Force, the contest gives students, faculty and staff members, administration, alumni, and friends of NSU the opportunity to be part of history in the making. Participants may enter either online or at athletic contests and student activities events throughout the contest period. Brad Williams , dean of student affairs, said student focus groups demonstrated very little attachment to the Knight, NSU's school mascot for 23 years. Moreover, in a recent survey, 40.5 percent of the student body was unable to even name the Knight as the school's nickname.
