Memorial Dedicated for Morton Terry, D.O., NSU Chancellor who Devoted a Lifetime to Medicine
NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr., and HPD Chancellor Fred Lippman joined the Board of Trustees, and member of NSU’s faculty, and staff to dedicate a new memorial to Morton Terry, D.O., the late Chancellor and founder of the Health Professions Division. In an outdoor ceremony, Lippman and Ferrero unveiled a permanent monument in the Terry Garden of the courtyard outside of HPD’sTerry Building. The plaque sits adjacent to a memorial to Matthew A. Terry, D.O., the late dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Chancellor Terry’s son. Those attending the dedication included Terry’s widow, Geraldine Terry, his daughter Pamela Terry, and his grandson Aaron Terry, a graduate of the Shepard Broad Law Center. President Ferrero remarked, “They say, ‘Great is the person who plants a tree, not knowing if they will ever enjoy its shade.’ Thankfully, Mort saw his trees grow and flourish. It’s only fitting that his memorial be here in this garden in full view of the institution he built, and among the students and colleagues he loved so dearly. I suspect that our dear friend Mort is finally taking a moment to enjoy the shade.” To read a full transcript of President Ferrero’s remarks, visit http://www.nova.edu/cwis/ia/pubaffairs/news/oct-dec2004/memorial.html | ||||
