ITDE Program Opens Cluster in South Korea

Michael Simonson, Ph.D., and program professor in Instructional Technology and Distance Education (ITDE), a program in the Fischler School of Education and Human Services, recently returned from Seoul and Deagu, Republic of Korea, where the ITDE program has opened a new cluster for master’s and doctoral students. The face to face portion of classes will be held in Deagu where classes are hosted at Daegu Cyber University, and on-campus in North Miami Beach. Online instruction will be delivered using WebCT and Videoconferencing.

South Korean students are currently employed as professors in Korean universities or as senior trainers in Korean businesses, such as Korea Telecommunications (KT). KT is Korea’s largest telecommunications provider.

The new Korea cluster was formed by Dr. Anthony DeNapoli, Executive Dean in the Fischler School, and Dr. Charles Kim, Korea Site Administrator. The Korea cluster is in addition to other ITDE international clusters in Mexico, Venezuela, and Jamaica, and supports the Fischler School goal of providing high quality educational experiences throughout the United States, Caribbean and the World.
