About SSN Use at NSU
Nova Southeastern University requires that an employee provide a Social Security Number at the time of employment. NSU is committed to preserving the privacy and confidentiality of the personnel records of our employees; therefore, the university does not use Social Security Numbers to identify employees in its automated record-keeping systems.
Once your Social Security Number and other new hire information is entered into our HR/Payroll system, an NSU ID will be system-generated for you. You will need to use this NSU ID on all forms you complete at NSU, except where Social Security Number may be required for benefits enrollments or government reporting (you will be advised in those situations).
You may look up your system-generated ID on the NSU website at http://www.nova.edu/cwis/oit/nsuidentity.html. Additionally, once it is generated, your supervisor will also be notified of your new NSU ID.
