Sick Leave Policy
All Employees (Excluding employees not eligible to accrue sick leave)
- Employees who have completed three months of continuous service are eligible to earn sick leave.
- Employees earn 11 sick days in first 12 months of employment; thereafter employees earn 12 sick days in each 12-month anniversary period.
- Sick leave hours are credited in pay periods that contain the FIRST DAY of the month.
- Sick leave hours do not have an accrual limit.
- Unused sick leave hours are not paid out to employees upon termination of employment from NSU.
Sick Leave Accrual Schedule
All accrual rates referenced below are based on a full-time work schedule (37.5 hours per week). Part-time employees can determine their accrual rate by dividing their weekly scheduled hours by 37.5 and multiplying the applicable full-time accrual rate by that figure.
