Books and journals on these shelves are library items which have
been discarded for various reasons:
• Old library books which have been superseded by newer editions.
• Duplicate copies of older titles which were once on Reserve but
are no longer needed in quantity.
• Donated items which are either too old to be added to the library
collection, are duplicates of items already in the collection, or are
not in line with our collection policies.
• Occasionally someone will inadvertently place a library book or
journal here that has not been withdrawn. When this happens, the alarm
will sound as you leave the library, and staff at the Circulation Desk
will check the item to ascertain that it is indeed a withdrawn item.
If it is not, it will be placed back on the library shelves..
