Ft. Lauderdale Entry Level Nursing Program
Congratulations and Welcome to the NSU Entry Level Nursing Program!!
Please review this website and make a note of all of the documentation and information that you will need to send or bring to the Office of Admissions. Orientation is mandatory and will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the Terry Building, 3200 S. University Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 8:00 A.M. It is during this orientation time that you will learn all about your courses, class schedule and the NSU campus. (Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes on Orientation Day.)
You can expect to be busy in school daily (which may include evenings and weekends), for the next 27 months! You will note that with your acceptance letter you received information on how to obtain an NSU username and password. Webmail is your NSU email and you can expect to receive correspondence from financial aid, admissions and your advisor. WebSTAR will allow you to view your class schedule, account balance and financial aid disbursements. Blackboard/WebCT will allow you to view your courses. You can access your Webmail, Blackboard/WebCT and WebSTAR from the SharkLink homepage (https://sharklink.nova.edu/cp/home/displaylogin). If you need further assistance please contact the help desk at (954) 262-4357 or 800-541-6682 ext. 2HELP.
For your first semester, the nursing support coordinator will register you for your courses. We can only register you if you have returned the intent to enroll letter to admissions and met your financial obligations (please call admissions at 954-262-8000 for assistance). You will be registered for approximately 3-4 courses a semester. Beginning with the second semester you will be responsible for registering for your own classes.
On orientation day you will be assigned your academic advisor and have the opportunity to see various sizes of lab coats and scrubs for purchasing the uniform. Please bring the following:
- NSU ID (N#) and PIN (password)
- NSU email address and password
- Course schedule
- Textbook list
- HPD Map
- Forms (website)- completed and signed
- Residency form
- Student information form
