The Doctoral Hooding Form is now closed.
Hooding is a tradition practiced by the Health Professions Division where a new graduate receiving a doctoral degree is welcomed into the profession by another member of that profession. Generally, the Dean hoods each graduate. However, there are exceptions to this rule. If you have an immediate family member who is a graduate with the same degree and in the same academic discipline that you are receiving, or if you have an immediate family member who is on faculty at NSU Health Professions Division, that family member may be allowed to hood you.
Please note: We define an immediate family member as a spouse, mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister, brother, grandparent, son, or daughter.
This individual does not need academic regalia. He or she will be asked to come on to the stage at the appropriate time.
Candidates receiving a doctoral degree during the August 2013 ceremony and who wish to have a family member hood them must submit this form by Monday, August 12, 2013.
This form will not be accepted after the appropriate deadline date.
Please print a copy for your records before submitting.
