Student Employment Programs
Federal Work-Study Program (FWS)The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program is a need-based program that provides students with part-time employment to help meet their financial need and give them work experience while helping the campus and the surrounding community. FWS students may work up to 25 hours per week and the rate of pay varies according to the position. Interested students must file a FAFSA/Renewal FAFSA. America Reads and America Counts Program
The America Reads/Counts program employs Federal Work-Study students to serve as reading and math tutors to elementary school children. Students may work a maximum of 25 hours per week. Interested students must file a FAFSA/Renewal FAFSA. For further information, contact the American Reads/Counts Administrator at amreads@nsu.nova.edu or at (954) 262-7405.
The Student Employment Office offers two programs that are not based on financial need. These programs include the NSU Employment Program and the Job Location and Development Program.
NSU Employment Program (NSE)
This program provides part-time, on-campus jobs for in-school students regardless of financial need. Students do not need to apply for financial aid to be considered for these positions. Foreign students may qualify for on-campus student employment under this program. For more information contact Student Employment via email or at 1-800-541-6682.
Job Location and Development Program (JLD)
The Job Location and Development Program serves in developing and locating off-campus community service jobs for students. Positions are open to all in-school students of Nova Southeastern University regardless of financial need. Students are encouraged to help improve their community while earning money to help cover their educational expenses. Positions can either be part-time or full-time.
