Must be accepted at NSU. The student is to submit an essay of not more than 300 words on how their disability impacted them while in school, and how they would use the knowledge gained through education to improve the lives of others with disabilities. Students with the highest GPA and financial need are selected based on available funds and meeting the priority deadline. The scholarship is renewable with a 3.2 GPA, depending on available funds.

HOWARD DUNBAR SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements: Awarded yearly to the graduating CPS Doctoral student whose energy, spirit, and enthusiasm evidence a dedication and willingness to work in the interests of professional psychology and the people it serves. Requirements: Scholarship awarded to academically promising new students applying to the undergraduate day college. The Office of Admissions for the Farquhar College makes awards to incoming students in the Professional and Liberal Studies Program. Minimum GPA is 3.0 and full-time enrollment. Awards are renewable if student maintains a 3.0 GPA and completes 24 credit hours in the previous fall and winter terms. Automatic renewal after the first year; after the second year renewal is based on satisfactory academic progress. Students who transfer from Farquhar College become ineligible. Students will lose eligibility for these awards if they leave the Professional and Liberal Studies Program before graduation to enroll in a graduate program, move to the Health Professions Division, enroll in the Career Development Program, or become a full-time NSU employee. If student drops below full-time during the term then their award is canceled.
