Pay: $13.00/hr.
Hours: 10-25 hrs./week.

Experience in working with children and a strong desire to help children read well in Broward County Elementary Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be independent, self-motivated, and professional. Own transportation necessary (car). Must be able to read, speak, and write English very well. Must have Federal Work Study Award.


OFF 26 – America Counts Tutor (applications accepted August 2008, check web site for instructions in August)
Pay: $13.00/hr
Hours: 10-25 hrs./week

Help improve math skills of children in Broward County Elementary Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be professional, self-motivated, organized and have good communication skills. Must have own transportation. Be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Must have Federal Work Study Award.


OFF 31 – Tutor/Mathematics & M.S. Office Skills – Pembroke Pines
Pay: $10.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Provide instructions in Mathematics for adult students preparing to take G.E.D. and MS Office 2003 including: Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet basics.

QUALIFICATIONS: Prefers a student whose major is teaching of Mathematics. Able to use M.S. Office programs. Able to communicate effectively in an oral manner. Must have Federal Work Study.

Health Professions Division (HPD) 3200 S. University Dr


HPD 001 – Administrative Student Library Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: Up to 20 hours./week

Work at circulation desk - check in/out books, organize library materials, photocopying, shelving books, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Fluent in English and as well as being able to communicate well. Good people and phone skills. Reliable and punctual. Must be flexible in work hours and motivated to do a good job. Previous library experience preferred. Undergraduate student preferred.


HPD 036 – Senior Student Assistant
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 15-20 hrs./week

Facilitate classes. Data entry and data collection. Answer phones, faxing. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Data entry skills. Graduate student only.


HPD 089 – Administrative Student Assistant
Pay: $10.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs/week - two shifts available.
           8:30-12:30 p.m., Mon-Fri, with some flexibility based on approval
           1:00-5:00 p.m., Mon-Fri, with some flexibility based on approval

Assist in the day-to-day operations in the academic and special events area of the department.
Some data entry, photocopying, faxing and phones.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have computer, typing, and customer service skills. Must have Federal Work Study.


HPD133 – Student Assistant/University Center Arena (summer work)
Pay: $8.50 hr.
Hours: 20 hours./week

Assist with phone calls for patients, patient check-in. Assist with patient access to Sports Medicine Clinic, filing of charts. Call patients to confirm appointments. Pick up patients.

QUALIFICATIONS: Friendly, outgoing individual. Dependable. Must have Federal Work Study.


HPD160 – Senior Student Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week
           Able to work 4-5 hrs./day

Assist the department with filing, scanning documents, copying handouts, organizing office documents. Deliver supplies, reserve rooms and arranging for videoconferencing, and taking care of other needs of the faculty members in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with office work in an academic setting. Due to confidentiality issues, applicant cannot be a Pharmacy student.

039 – Desktop Computing Assistant
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Assist full-time employees with the daily installation and maintenance and support of personal computer hardware and software.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge of PC hardware and software, as well as Windows operating systems. Ability to travel to various campus locations. Must be able to lift equipment as required.


042A – Senior Student Assistant
Pay: $7.50/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Assisting Student Services in various clerical duties including typing, word processing, filing, etc. Answer phones, take accurate messages, route calls, respond courteously and professionally to routine inquiries. Assist with special projects. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Dependable and reliable. Confidentiality is imperative. Detail oriented. Computer and typing skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Previous experience helpful. Be able to work with moderate supervision. Undergraduate student preferred.


042 – Senior Student Assistant
Pay: $7.50/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Assisting the Dean’s Office in various clerical duties including typing, word processing, filing, etc. Answer phones, take accurate messages, route calls, respond courteously and professionally to routine inquiries. Assist with special projects. Other duties as assigned.

045 – Student Library Assistant
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week.

Shelving, answer phones, copying, filing, etc. Work weekend and evenings when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Good phone & people skills, interpersonal skills, computer literate. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be able to speak and understand English very well.


046 – Student Library Assistant/Tech. Services
Pay: Begins at $8.00/hr.
Hours: 15–20 hrs./week

Support activities of Collection & Bibliographic Services. Sort and distribute incoming mail. Print call numbers for new materials. Photocopy and distribute materials as requested; shelve materials, maintain catalog of Novacat Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently. Ability to lift bins, packages, push full cars of library materials. Prefers a graduate student.


086 – Graduate Student Assistant
Pay: $11.00/hr.
Hours: 15-25 hours/week

Assist coordinator with on-going projects within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communication skills; ability to handle the public; financial aid experience a plus but not required; training will be provided. Must be a graduate student at NSU. Above average oral communication. Be detailed oriented and have excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work minimum of 15 hours per week. Have Federal Work Study award.


087 – Student Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: 20-25 hours/week

General office skills; filing, answer phones professionally. Assist with ongoing projects. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: General office skills; attention to detail. Knowledge of Excel, word processing. Maintain high degree of confidentiality. Able to type accurately. Must have Federal Work Study.


092 – Student Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: 20-25 hrs./week (needed until August 22)

Filing, make photocopies, run errands and other duties as assigned.

165 – Lifeguard
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: Available hours 7:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.

Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulation, and the conduct of persons using the pool, saunas, and spa. Additional duties include scrubbing pool gutters, using heavy vacuum and hosing down deck.

QUALIFICATIONS: American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR certifications required.


402 – Administrative Student Assistant
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: 20-25 hrs./week

Clerical duties. Filing, putting binders together, etc.

412 – Admin. Student Assistant
Pay: $8.00/hr.

Large volume of data entry, filing, mailings and phone coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS: Type 45 WPM minimum with text and numerical data. Excellent communication and clerical skills. Knowledge of computers, detailed oriented and ability to switch tasks with short notice. Pleasant phone manners. Data entry experience helpful. Must have Federal Work Study.


417 – Administrative Student Assistant
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Excellent communication and clerical skills required. Knowledge of computers to be able to do corrections and large volume of data entry, filing and mailings. Must be able to switch from one job to another on short notice. Pleasant phone manners.

QUALIFICATIONS: Fast accurate typist - 45 WPM minimum with text and numerical data. Detailed oriented and ability to focus on very important tasks. Data entry experience helpful. Must have Federal Work Study.


503 – Network Specialist
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Assists in the installation of networking equipment. Assists in trouble-shooting network outages. Gather and compile information for special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, Fast Ethernet, and UNIX operating system.


534 – Receptionist
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week (Summer work – ends 8/22/08)

Answer telephones, messages, and greeting clients. General clerical duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Pleasant working manner and ability to follow through with tasks. Have basic computer knowledge.


550 – Group Exercise Instructor
Pay: $15.00/hr-starting
Available Hours: 5:15am-11:00pm

Create and lead safe and challenging group exercise classes in Aerobics, Yoga and Pilates.

QUALIFICATIONS: Try-outs required.


552 – Technical Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr
Available Hours: 20 hrs./week (Evening and weekend hours available)

Troubleshoot technical issues for students, faculty, and staff setting up and picking up equipment on campus via telephone as well as answering technical help calls online using text-based chat software.

QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient in operation and use of microcomputers. Above-average oral communications skills. Also have, at a minimum, basic MS Office knowledge.


561 – Marketing Assistant/Administrative Student Assistant
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hours/week

Assist Career Development team with marketing, event planning, and research. Complete projects for team as assigned. Support the administrative needs of the office. Work with students and employers aiding the resume referral process.

QUALIFICATIONS: Computer knowledge, excellent customer service skills, detail-oriented. Must have Federal Work Study.


590 – Administrative Student Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: 20 hours/week

Entering of data.Respond to student inquiries via e-mails.

QUALIFICATIONS: Good organizational skills, ability to work well with others as part of a team. Communicate effectively verbally and face-to-face. Very detailed oriented and accurate in entering data. PC proficient. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Other duties as assigned. Must have Federal Work Study.


603 – Administrative Student Assistant - West Palm Beach
Pay: $11.00/hr.
Hours: 20-hrs/wk.

Assist financial aid counselor in checking and receiving documents, photocopying documents , and answering basic financial aid questions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Have good communications skills and understanding of professional work place protocol. Be able to work at least 15 hours per week. Must have Federal Work Study.


641 – Graduate Student Assistant/Writing Tutor
Pay: $10.25/hr.
Hours: 5-16 per week.

Work with students on an individualized basis. Assist in the various stages of the writing process: brainstorming, planning, organizing, revising. Assist with sentence structure, grammar, sentence and paragraph development, punctuation, MLA & APA documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Writing, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Strong writing skills and the ability to work with students at different levels of academic preparation. Teaching and/or tutoring experience preferred, but not required.


642 – Administrative Student Assistant - Las Vegas
Pay: $10.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hours/week
Some Saturdays required

Assist financial aid counselor with answering student’s basic financial aid questions advise students of application process, and give status of file. Fax and mail documents.

QUALIFICATIONS: Good verbal communication skills. Understanding work place protocol. Computer literate. Must have Federal Work Study.


653 – Administrative Student Assistant – HPD Campus
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hrs.: Up to 25 hrs./week

Interact with faculty and staff as needed, filing, duplication mailing, internet searches, etc. Work with MS Word, Excel, etc. Maintain office supplies, phone coverage. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to organize and cross-reference computer files (database, word processing, email, etc.) and other materials. Working knowledge of MS Office, database, desktop publishing, email programs. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Work cooperatively and be able to multitask. Be able to transport oneself and materials to other locations on campus. Must have Federal Work Study.

715 – Student Assistant
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: 20-25 hrs./week

Assist department by reviewing records for accuracy. Modify spreadsheets. Research and update record information. Retrieve, print and prepare documents for processing. Photocopying, sorting, filing, mailing, and other duties as assigned.

721 – Facilities Aide
Pay: $7.50/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Assist in various clerical duties such as typing, phones, sorting mail and word processing. Computer literate, dependable and reliable. Perform several manual tasks around the building such as assisting in setting up classrooms and checking classrooms daily.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to lift 40 lbs


730 – Student Assistant/ASA Desk Attendant
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hours/week

Act as first point of contact and resource person for the Athletic & Student Affairs (ASA) Building. Greet visitors, students and employees utilizing customer service skills. Direct NSU students, visitors and employees to various NSU departments as appropriate. Create and maintain updated directories for the department. Schedule and set-up of Student Meeting Rooms and the patio. Maintain cleanliness of various areas. Minor office duties: telephone, taking messages, organizing, etc. Make coffee. Assist with projects, tasks and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Attended at least one (1) semester at NSU. Friendly, polite, positive, organized individual who will also take initiative. Able to provide excellent customer service skills.


733 - Student Assistant/Preschool Aide
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 15-20 hrs./week
3:00 – 5:30/6:00 p.m.

Care for preschool children ages 2-5 for early and aftercare..

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with young children preferable. Must have Federal Work Study.


760 – Student Assistant (North Miami Beach)
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20/week

Perform all filing duties as required. Provide assistance with special projects. Provide general office support.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be computer literate and have organizational skills.


778 – Student Assistant
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: 20/week

Receive technical hardware and software. Process the items with a barcode scanner and computer. Deliver items to various departments on- and off-campus.

QUALIFICATIONS: Computer literate. Able to lift objects weighing up to 100 lbs. and climb ladders to storage bins above floor level. Must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass a van certification test to drive NSU van for deliveries.


779 – Operations Assistant/Facilities
Pay: $7.50/hr.
Available Hours: 5:15am-11:00pm

Answer telephones, manage the operation of the front service desk, answer questions, enforce facility and program policies, conduct face checks, and distribute information and directions. Maintain the cleanliness of the facility and the upkeep of the facility program space.

QUALIFICATIONS: Communicate effectively in both written and oral manner. Work cooperatively with others.


781 – Operations Assistant/Fitness
Pay: $7.50/hr.
Available Hours: 5:15am-11:00pm

Promote and enforce all fitness room policies. Ensure a safe work-out environment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment. Be visible on the fitness room floor during shift, to answer questions and provide general assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Have a working knowledge of the use of free weights; cardiovascular, and selectorized machines. Communicate effectively in both written and oral manner. Work cooperatively with others.


787 – Summer Golf League
Pay: $7.50/hr-starting
Hours: Available Hours: 5:15am-11:00pm (May-July)
Weekends as needed

Establish weekly tee times, collect weekly greens fees, collect and report league member scores, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Communicate effectively, in both oral and written manner. Work cooperatively with others.


795 – Senior Student Assistant - North Miami Beach
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: 20/week

Word processing, telephones, filing and photocopying. Search on system for data as needed. Receive and direct visitors. Assist in areas of textbook orders, course study guides and/or syllabi. Receive and distribute mail. ; Schedule appointments. Communicate as needed with Student Services to respond to student problems or calls. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Able to perform Word Processing, good oral/written communication skills. Able to work cooperatively with colleagues/supervisory staffs. May also be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and occasionally off-campus sites for meetings, conferences, seminars, etc. Knowledge of Banner, databases (e.g. Access, Excel) a plus. 796 – Student Assistant/Event Services
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 5-20 hrs./wk.
May include evenings and weekends, depending on events.

Jobs include Guest Services, Ticket Takers, Ushers, Ticket Sellers and other various event services and box office jobs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to communicate well both in a verbal and written manner, possess great interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced athletic and entertainment environment.

Pay: $7.50/hr.

Process and renew memberships. Be knowledgeable in all membership services. Provide facility tours.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have good customer service skills and telephone etiquette.


816 – Student Assistant
Pay: $9.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Basic clerical duties, data entry, filing, and provide assistance with applying NSU tags to new equipment on campus and assist within inventory scanning. Working mostly in the Horvitz Administration Building.

QUALIFICATIONS: General office skills; attention to detail, Knowledge of Excel, word processing. Willing to go to different departments/buildings campus wide. Must have Federal Work Study.


821 – Student Assistant – HPD Campus
Pay: $8.50/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week

Answer phones, answer student health insurance questions. Some filing, making copies. Advise students of enrollment, waiver deadlines, and insurance status

QUALIFICATIONS: Basic computer skills, excellent verbal communication skills. Friendly, positive, organized individual who can work independently and take initiative. Must have Federal Work Study.


823 – Student Assistant – East Campus/SR84 and SW 9th Avenue
(15 minutes from Main Campus)
Pay: $9.50 - 10.00/hr.
Hours: 20-25 hrs./week

Assist office with light filing, phones as needed. Assist marketing director with web research. Proofread statistics, spreadsheets, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Computer literate including MS Office, Excel, Internet searches. Professional demeanor and appearance (no jeans). Proper telephone etiquette. Must have Federal Work Study.


831 – Student Assistant/Operations
Pay: $8.00/hr.
Hours: 20 hrs./week
Some weekends and evenings required

Oversee arena after hours during athletic season. Lock arena doors, turn off lights in main arena. Allow entry only to approved personnel. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Communicative. Able to maintain standards of arena. Follow all arena procedures and policies.


844 – Senior Student Assistant
Pay: $8.00/hr.

Hours: 20 hours/week
Available to work 9:00-1:00 p.m. or 1:00-5:00 p.m., Mon-Fri
