The following grants are available to undergraduate students who have not received their first bachelor’s degree. Students interested in federal grants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet general eligibility criteria.

Federal Grant Programs
A need-based federal grant program awarded to undergraduate students seeking their first bachelor’s degree. The actual amount of the grant is prorated based on the student’s actual enrollment status each term. The award amount varies on a yearly basis. For 2006-2007, the amount ranges from $400-$4,050.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
A need-based federal grant program awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need who have not yet completed their first bachelor's degree. First priority is given to Pell-eligible students with the lowest EFC. The award amount is $1,500 for in-state students and $3,000 for out-of-state students. The priority deadline is April 15 of the academic year in which you apply (i.e., for 2006-2007, the deadline is April 15, 2007).

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Programs
This state of Florida-funded scholarship rewards Florida high school graduates who demonstrate high academic achievement and enroll in an eligible Florida post-secondary institution. The scholarship program has three levels: the Florida Academic Scholars Award, the Florida Medallion Scholars Award, and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award. Each award level has different academic criteria for eligibility, award amounts, and renewable criteria. Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG)
The Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) is a state of Florida non-need-based grant program awarded to undergraduate students who attend a private college and have not received their first bachelor's degree. Students must be classified by NSU as an undergraduate student for financial aid purposes. If you are enrolled in a program that indicates you are considered a graduate after 90 credits, you will not be eligible for the FRAG.
Students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits (9 credits for nursing students) by the end of the drop/add period for the first eight weeks of both fall and winter terms. Students must meet Florida residency requirements. Eligibility is limited to 9 semesters. To renew, students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and 12 credit hours (9 credits for nursing students) for previous summer/fall/winter terms for each semester they received the award. IMPORTANT: Check the Financial Aid Calendar for the priority deadlines and drop/add dates for both fall and winter terms.

Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)
The Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) is a need-based state of Florida grant program awarded to undergraduate students who have not yet completed their first bachelor's degree. Students must be classified by NSU as an undergraduate student for financial aid purposes. If you are enrolled in a program that indicates you are considered a graduate after 90 credits, you will not be eligible for the FSAG.
