More than 400 Guatemalan children are able to hear better thanks to
the efforts NSU Assistant Professor, Dr. Fred Rahe, Au.D., and four
NSU Doctor of Audiology students. The students, Allison Shapiro,
Erika Devore, Brandi Pouliot, and Julia Prusinowski, traveled with
Dr. Rahe to Guatemala City where they fit children with hearing aids
in a project supported by the McDonalds Corporation and Siemens
Hearing Instruments. McHappy Days were November 16-18. The event was
coordinated by Guatemalan audiologist Patricia Castellanos de Munoz
and assisted by Dr. Rahe and the NSU students. |
