Loan Refunds
Loan refunds are issued automatically after the loan has been credited
to the student account and the account has a credit (excess) balance.
Refunds are not issued before loan proceeds are received by NSU.
Note: All refunds are mailed to students, unless you have signed
up for Direct Deposit. It is important to be sure that your local
address listed with the Registrar's Office is current and correct.
Direct Deposit
Your loan refunds and other refunds from your student account can
be directly deposited in your bank like a paycheck. Electronic deposit
eliminates waiting: waiting for your check to come in the mail;
waiting in line at the bank to deposit your check; waiting for that
check to clear.
Just complete the authorization form and return it to NSU's Loan
Disbursement Department with a voided personal check and your future
refunds will be electronically deposited into your personal checking
account. This is the easy way to gain fast, direct access to your
refund money.
To approve direct deposit, fill out the authorization form which
appears on your monthly statement or click here
(PDF) to print the form and mail or fax it to the Bursar's Office
with a void check (required).
Your direct deposit authorization will remain in effect until cancelled
in writing by you and received by the Bursar's Office. Remember
to notify us if you move or change banks when you are in school.
Authorization forms can also be faxed to 954-262-4131.
