About the Conference
This conference marked the first-ever symposium at Nova Southeastern University and the national Center for Bioterrorism and All-Hazards Preparedness (CBAP), dealing with issues on campus safety and security in higher education. Renowned experts presented topics on strategies and best practices, including Dr. Ronald Stephens of the National School Safety Center and NSU’s own international expert, Dr. Scott Poland. This conference represented an important opportunity for college and university staff, faculty, administration, and security personnel, to reflect on safety and security measures and to make improvements wherever applicable. Ultimately, those who attended were provided exceptional insight into current knowledge and practice on campus safety and security as well as steps ahead.
