Faculty and Staff
Susan Cooke, MCMS, PA-C
Professor Cooke obtained her Masters in Clinical Medical Sciences from Barry University Physician Assistant Program in 2005. After graduation, she joined the trauma and critical care team at UF & Shands Jacksonville. Over the last six years, she has managed life-threatening and surgical conditions in the ICU and Northeast Florida's only level 1 Trauma Center. Among her colleagues Professor Cooke is known for her compassion and dedication to excellent patient care. While at Shands, Professor Cooke has participated in the education of PA students, medical students, nursing and nurse practitioner students, surgical residents and paramedic students. Although Professor Cooke has enjoyed a rewarding career in practicing critical care, she desires to impart her clinical experience and medical knowledge to those aspiring to become Physician Assistants.
Professor Cooke is a wife and mother of three children. A Jacksonville native, she enjoys outside activities including running, mountain-biking and going to the beach. She is also fond of baking, drawing and painting. Most weekends, she and her family can be spotted cheering on the Jaguars & Gators, geocaching or participating in school and church functions.
Professor Cooke is very excited to be a part of the Nova Southeastern University Jacksonville PA Program. She hopes to bestow her passion for exceptional patient care to the future Physician Assistants.
