J. Keith Williams, MPAS, PA-C Emeritus

Mr. Williams entered academia in 1999 when he joined the PA faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport, Louisiana. Professor Williams joined the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program in August 2002. In 2005, he was voted "Teacher of the Year" by the PA class of 2006.

Mr. Williams graduated from Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, CT in 1976 with a Bachelors degree in Biology. In 1979, he received certification as an EMT/Paramedic from Daytona Beach Community College and worked for three years with the Volusia County, Florida EVAC ambulance service. In 1983, he graduated from the University of Florida PA Program in Gainesville, with a Bachelors degree in Medicine.

Keith then returned to Daytona Beach and practiced clinically in emergency medicine at Halifax Medical Center for fifteen years. In 2006, he received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in emergency medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, PA Program in Omaha, Nebraska.

Professor Williams is currently course director for both Electrocardiography and Health Promotion & Disease Prevention. He lectures on various topics in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Procedures and Surgical Skills, Clinical Pathophysiology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Physical Diagnosis.

He served as chairman of the annual "CMe at the Beach" medical review conference from 2002 to 2006. He currently serves on the Admissions, Curriculum, and Instructional Technology committees.

Professor Williams conducts the basic and advanced suture workshops at the FAPA summer symposium state conference.
