Physician Assistant Program - Fort Lauderdale
Welcome to the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program - Fort Lauderdale Campus. The Physician Assistant Program is located within Health Professions Division located on the main campus of Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Located on a 900,000 square foot campus, the university is located 15 minutes from the heart of Fort Lauderdale.
The PA Department is also pleased to offer a PA/MPH Concurrent Degree Program providing an opportunity for students to attain an MPH degree in addition to the entry-level Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant degree. The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation - Continued to the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program in Fort Lauderdale, Florida sponsored by Nova Southeastern University. Continued accreditation is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Continued accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the standards. The approximate date for the next comprehensive review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2015.
Our program has 14 full time faculty members who actively teach in class and laboratory sessions, as well as participate in various health care and educational committees and associations. Program class size ranges from 70-75 students per year, thereby maintaining a faculty student ratio of approximately 5:1. By utilizing the resources available through the College of Health Care Sciences, the program strives to achieve excellence and assist students in reaching their maximum potential. With over 1,400 graduates from our program; we are proud of our alumni who currently work in all areas of medicine, including active involvement in government and leadership positions.
