Occupational Therapy (OTD)

Orientation

Welcome!

On behalf of the NSU Tampa-Department of Occupational Therapy, please accept a sincere welcome to the Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. We know that you worked hard to meet admission requirements so we want you to feel the significance of joining Class of 2016. You are embarking on an educational journey that blends distance with face-to-face learning experiences that we designed with your need and learning style in mind. Using the department’s curriculum model which is reiterative, rigorous, recursive, relational, and you will learn not only the how, but also the why and the evidence for occupational therapy practice.
The 3 ½ years of your doctoral preparation will fly swiftly, because you will engage actively in didactic, research, and clinical experiences that prepare you to serve as part of a team of interdisciplinary health professionals at various practice settings. Upon graduation, you may find yourself working in places such as hospital, school, research, outpatient and home health as well as in other programs where occupational therapists have not worked before.
