Emily joined the Office of Career Development in March 2014 as a full time Career Adviser, before transitioning into her current role as Assistant Director of Career Development in January 2017. As a member of the Career Development staff, Emily strives to support each individual student she works with in a variety of ways throughout their career exploration and planning process. Emily strongly believes in empowering students at all levels to engage in self-reflection and make career choices that reflect their passions and values.
Emily is a native of New England, where she grew up and attended the University of Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus in Interpersonal Communication and a minor in Psychology. Throughout her undergraduate career, Emily explored her interest in working with diverse populations by taking courses such as multicultural psychology and basic American Sign Language, as well as becoming involved in various community organizations.
Prior to joining the Office of Career Development, Emily has held roles in both Career Advisement and Human Resources/University Recruiting, allowing her to bring a unique, blended perspective to her advising sessions with students. Outside the office, you can usually find Emily in the kitchen, baking up some cookies, or practicing yoga.
