CAREERShark allows students to conveniently upload resumes and cover letters, search for jobs, and view workshops and on-campus recruiting schedules, as well as, register personal, academic, and work experience information with the Nova Southeastern University Office of Career Development – all in a single software application!
Your resume is seen by local, regional, national, and international employers who are serious about recruiting Nova Southeastern University students. You will also receive email notices of upcoming events and other relevant career-related opportunities.
Career Consulting
Utilizing the Career Track Model, the Office of Career Development partners with Nova Southeastern University students and alumni to assist in planning a career and exploring opportunities as they relate to educational and career development.
College Liaisons
Career Development professionals work closely with academic programs to provide comprehensive career support to students and alumni including specific programming, events, and individualized consulting. Meet Our Staff.
Career Library and Computer Lab
The Career Development library contains information about a variety of career related areas. There are also guidebooks for writing resumes and improving interviewing skills, manuals offering job search strategies, and directories of employers as well as other information on organizations and industries. A variety of professional magazines, journals and employment related newspapers are available in the Career Development library. Computers are available to students/alumni for career research and online job searching.
Practical Experience
Gaining practical experiences during your time on campus is extremely important for your complete career development. Employers no longer look at just grades, but rather look for “real-life” experiences such as part-time work, co-op experiences, internships, or full-time work that relate to their needs. NSU Career Development provides free posting of position openings for employers searching for candidates. Each week, new jobs are posted via CAREERShark. Make sure to “Get Connected” with Career Development to receive your access username and password.
Resume Referral Service
Resume referral service is an added bonus to being connected with Career Development and having your resume viewed by employers through CAREERShark. Having a current resume uploaded will give your career consultant the means to refer your resume to openings on your behalf.
