Frequently Asked Questions

The following are a collection of questions commonly asked by advisors. For further explanation or inquiry about anything not answered in the following questions, please contact the Office of Campus Life and Student engagement at (954) 262-7288 or campuslife@nova.edu.

All Registered Student Organizations (RSO) have to re-register their organization once a year. They re-register by updating and renewing their organization portal on OrgSync to reflect any new officers, update any general information, and any changes to the constitution. Starting at May 1, OrgSync will automatically notify all portals that an update is required. RSOs will have until the second week of the Fall term to fully update their OrgSync page.

A Registered Student Organization must have a president, a treasurer and a NSU faculty/staff advisor. The RSO must be open to all NSU students, 51% of the members must be undergraduate students, and the organization’s OrgSync page must be updated annually.

The time requirement is absolutely up to what the advisor and the organization leadership agree upon. It can vary to hours per semester, weekly commitments, and monthly contributions. It is really up to you and the RSO you advise.
