Foundation Funding Announcements
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation is a private nonprofit
foundation dedicated to innovation in communication sciences and disorders.
It is funded, in part, by the tax-deductible contributions of individuals,
corporations, and organizations. Size and quantity of funded awards
are dependent on fundraising results and may vary accordingly.

The American Academic of Audiology awards scholarships through its
foundation and committees for qualified students. visit their website

MACS SCHOLARSHIP
The Miami Association of Communication Specialists (MACS) is pleased
to announce the MACS Scholarship campaign is soliciting applications.
The MACS Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding graduate
or doctoral student in the field of Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
The winner will receive $2000 and be invited to accept the award at
the Annual Business Meeting (attendance not mandatory). We are happy
to be able to contribute to the education of a future professional.
Tylenol Scholarship
The makers of the TYLENOL® Family of Products will award
10 $10,000 scholarships and 150 $1,000 scholarships for higher education
to students who demonstrate leadership in community activities and school
activities and who intend to major in areas that will lead to careers
in health-related fields.
You may apply to the TYLENOL Brand Scholarship Fund if you will be
an undergraduate or graduate student in the fall of 2002 at an accredited
two-or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
This includes those students currently enrolled in an undergraduate
or
graduate course of study and who have one or more years of school remaining.
OFFICIAL RULES
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must complete
the application form in its entirety and return it to Citizens' Scholarship
Foundation of America, Inc. (CSFA) by the entry postmark deadline, April
30, 2002. All applications will be first screened on the basis of leadership
responsibilities in community activities and school activities and on
grade point average. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the
basis of the number, length of commitment, and quality of leadership
responsibilities in community activities and school activities, awards
and honors (40%), a clear statement of education and career goals (10%),
and academic record (50%).
CSFA will have sole responsibility for the selection of recipients
and its decision will be final. Recipients will be notified by mail.
Void where prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations
apply.
Recipients shall be responsible for any and all taxes. Recipients
will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release
of Liability.
Acceptance of scholarship constitutes permission to use recipient's
name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade and agreement
to attend a local awards ceremony at the TYLENOL brand's expense without
any further compensation, unless prohibited by law. No transfer of scholarship
is permitted. Offer open to residents of the 50 states and District
of Columbia who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary school in
the fall of 2002.
Employees of McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals, Citizens'
Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc., their affiliates, subsidiaries,
advertising and promotion agencies and the families of each are not
eligible.

Funded by the Alliance Fund of the Audiology Foundation, AFA offers
fellowship awards annually, with each awardee receiving $2,500. Fellowships
are renewable for up to four years by reapplication annually. To qualify
for an award, an Au.D. candidate must be enrolled as a full-time student
at an accredited institution. Each applicant must be a citizen or permanent
resident of the United Stated or Canada. Applications are available

Student Academic Merit Scholarship

GN Resound, a world leader in the manufacturer of advanced technology
hearing instruments and audiological test equipment, will award two
deserving Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students one-time scholarships
of $5,000. This award will be given to two student applicants who have
demonstrated both outstanding academic achievement, as well as a unique
and impressive aptitude for clinical work and a passion for caring for
the hearing impaired. The scholarship is intended to assist and motivate
those students who best represent the ideals of professional dedication
and patient care that are embodied by the Au.D. degree. Any student
currently enrolled full-time in a nationally recognized Au.D. university
program, or who has been accepted as a full-time student for fall semester
2001. Interested applicants should request a GN ReSound Scholarship
Application from your program chairperson. Complete all required forms
(including application form and practicum site experience forms). Provide
a copy of both undergraduate and graduate-to-date transcripts. Obtain
a letter of recommendation from your program professor. Complete a personally
written cover letter. Submit all of the above in the provided envelope
to GN ReSound by the deadline date. Please note the scholarship is intended
for tuition, books, supplies, and associated university fees (not including
