Post-baccalaureate Doctoral Degree Admissions Requirements

United States Citizens

  • Official transcript indicating award of B.A./B.S.
  • Grade point average of 3.2 or better preferred
  • Personal Interview
  • Three letters of recommendation from instructors and/or supervisors
  • Completed application, including essays
  • Application fee of $50.00

Applicants who are not native English speakers may be asked to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language and/or the Test of Spoken English, and would qualify for admissions only if scoring at or above 600 and 50, respectively. †

International Applicants Holding Foreign Degrees

  • Application, supplemental application (including essay) and application fee of $50
  • Three letters of recommendation from instructors and/or supervisors
  • Verification of student visa or residency status
  • Oral interview
  • Degree evaluation by an NSU-approved evaluation service
  • Score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 600 or higher *†
  • Score on the Test of Spoken English (TSE) of 50 or higher *†

Accepted applicants must also obtain an I-20 and be a full-time degree seeking student.

† Recommendations may be made for remediation or tutorial intervention, including, but not limited to, accent modification and tutoring in the appropriate use of oral and written English, depending on test scores, admission essays, and on performance during the personal interview.
