Nova University is a privately endowed enterprise of the people of Broward County, Florida, one that is dedicated to creating a university for the southeastern United States which will meet the highest standards of academic excellence. It has been conceived and launched by the members of South Florida Education Center, incorporated, with the unstinting support of the Broward County Board of Public Instruction, other public officials and various individuals whose aid has been invaluable.

The campus site being dedicated today was acquired in part by purchase and in part by grant from the United States Government. It embraces 125 acres. Gifts to the University now in process will expand the campus to 275 acres.

Nova University will open here in September, 1967. Today's occasion will be remembered as the institution's first public ceremony.

The structures and landscaping created for this occasion were made possible by Mr. A.D. Griffin, Sr., Mr. Charles S. Serianni and the university architect, Mr. James F. Hartley.

In the event of rain the ceremonies will take
place in the Nova High School gymnasium.
