New Las Vegas Student Educational Center Grand Opening On Thursday, March 23, 2006, the Las Vegas Student Educational Center hosted a Grand Opening Ceremony for NSU alumni, local community members and current/prospective students. Special guests included NSU's Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Dr. Hanbury, Executive Director of Student Educational Centers Dr. Nellis, NV State Senator Dennis Nolan, Deputy Superintendent of Clark County Schools Dr. Agustin Orci, Paul Moradkhan representing US Representative Jon Porter, Gerri Schroder representing US Representative Shelley Berkley, Christy Guedry representing US Senator John Ensign, Liane Lee representing US Senator Harry Reid, Dr. Wayne Driscoll representing Dr.
Singleton and Fishler School, and Dr. Scott Poland representing the Center for Psychological Studies.

The event featured an official ribbon cutting ceremony and the presentation of several proclamations from the State of Nevada, the Clark County Schools, US Representatives, and US Senators. Dr. Hanbury accepted the proclamations on behalf of NSU.

The celebration proved to be a wonderful opportunity for graduates to come and network with one another. The students in attendance were able to share in the excitement and growth of the university and prospective students came to learn about the degrees available at the new center.

Set in a beautiful facility only suitable for Las Vegas, the new Student Educational Center is approximately 25,000 sq ft with 26 classrooms, 2 computer labs and 2 classrooms equipped for live video conferences. All classrooms have wireless internet access and state-of-the art audio/visual technology. The SEC is also available to the community for meetings and conferences. The Las Vegas SEC has a full time staff of 11 and approximately 50 adjunct faculty. The SEC offers undergraduate and graduate courses in education and business and graduate courses in school guidance counseling. Nova Southeastern University has been serving students in Las Vegas for 25 years.
