Alumni Chapter Leaders Honored at Breakfast of Champions
On Friday, Feb. 22, the NSU Alumni Association hosted the 2nd Annual Breakfast of Champions, where alumni chapter leaders from across the United States were acknowledged for their efforts with the NSU Alumni Association’s regional and professional chapters.
The goal of the Chapter Achievement Program is to generate excitement, energy, and a little friendly competition between all NSU alumni chapters. The program has 3 levels- Bronze, Silver, and Gold- and a panel of judges selected award recipients based on the following components: number of regular social and networking events, donations to the NSU Annual Fund, and consistency/increase of chapter membership.
The following alumni chapters received honors:

2007 Silver Level Winner: The Chicago Alumni Chapter
2007 Gold Level Winners: The New Jersey Alumni Chapter; The Eastern New York Alumni Chapter; The Palm Beach Law Alumni Chapter; The Atlanta Alumni Chapter; The Northeast Florida & Southeast Georgia Alumni Chapter; The Tampa Alumni Chapter.
Individual awards were presented for the following:
- The Outstanding Community Relations Award- given to the chapter that most excels in promoting NSU in the local community.
2007 Winner: The Atlanta Alumni Chapter.
- The Outstanding Fellowship and Networking Award- given to the chapter that most excels in planning social events that promote fellowship among chapter members and encourages networking.
2007 Winner: The New Jersey Alumni Chapter
- The Super Shark Alumni Chapter Leader Award- given to the individual who goes above and beyond for their alumni chapter and for NSU.
2007 Winner: Dr. David Weintraub, member and past President of the New Jersey Alumni Chapter.
The Breakfast of Champions was the kickoff to the Annual Chapter Presidents retreat.
