The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is the largest fully accredited sheriff’s office in the United States. The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County created by Sheriff Ken Jenne in 1999, promotes public safety through education, public awareness and charitable activities.
Nova Southeastern University is the largest independent institution of higher education in the Southeast, and it is the 6th largest independent institution nationally. In addition to programs in Criminal Justice, NSU awards associate's, bachelor's, master's, educational specialist, doctoral, and first-professional degrees in a wide range of fields.
