2006 Broward County American Heart Walk - Saturday, March 11, 2006
Come join the community in a walk to fight heart disease and stroke, at the 2006 Broward County American Heart Walk on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at NSU’s main campus in Fort Lauderdale. The Heart Walk activities begin at 8:00 a.m., and the walk itself is set to start at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine. This is the fifth consecutive year that NSU has served as the site of the Broward County walk. This year NSU and the American Heart Association hope to raise $770,000 dollars.
The American Heart Association, which is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, defeat and treat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases, began the American Heart Walk in 1993 to focus attention on exercise as an important part of a heart-healthy lifestyle. It is the organization’s largest national fundraising and awareness-raising event and averages 5,000 participants throughout South Florida.
Please help us to raise awareness of the risk of heart disease and women's number one killer.
