Two hundred members of the NSU family came out to participate in An Evening with Egyptian Royalty at the Museum of Art/Ft Lauderdale on Tuesday, January 17.  NSU alumni, students, deans, faculty and staff enjoyed the Royal Egyptian Reception followed by a tour of the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibit.  This is the first time in more than a quarter of a century that this exhibit, featuring more than 130 artifacts, is touring the United States.  NSU is proud to sponsor such a historic event in our community and it was an honor to bring this memorable experience to our dedicated alumni.

Eastern New York Alumni Chapter Luncheon
The Eastern New York Alumni Chapter met for lunch Saturday, January 21st at the Wyndham Hotel located near La Guardia Airport in Queens, New York.  There were 18 Alumni in attendance which surpassed the attendance of the first meeting in October.  Many of the attendees were new faces who have decided to become a part of the membership.  The main topic of discussion was the direction this group would take to promote NSU in this region.  Public Relations was said to be the most important issue.  The membership shared their thoughts on gaining more recognition for NSU and to increase the level of respect from colleagues who attended NY's SUNY and CUNY college and university system.  The group is looking forward to having a Fischler School representative address the association at their next meeting in the hopes of brainstorming ideas of increasing the visibility and acceptability of NSU in the Eastern New York region.  The next event will be held in late March/early April. Contact chapter president Kim Nisbett at msniz@aol.com for more information!
