Tennis Program Ranked 17th in ITA National Poll
The NSU tennis program finished the fall season ranked 17th in the nation according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the governing body of collegiate tennis. The Sharks stand fourth in the South Region, behind Sunshine State Conference rivals Lynn and Barry, along Florida Gulf Coast University.
Sophomore Alexa Korotkevich (St. Petersburg, Russia) is ranked as the 17th best singles player nationally and the fourth best singles player in the south region. The doubles team of Korotkevich and sophomore Tsippy Waterman were ranked as the 22nd best tandem in the nation and fifth best in the south region.
BYU-Hawaii, Armstrong Atlantic State, West Florida, Lynn and Abilene Christian were ranked as the top five teams in the nation.
Korotkevich reached the semi-finals in the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Tournament and advanced to the second round of the C.L. Varner Memorial Tournament in the 2006 during singles play in the fall season.
