NSU Shark Shuffle- Sunday, September 24, 2006
Looking for some motivation to get in shape? Join us at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 24 for the inaugural NSU Shark Shuffle, a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk designed to promote health and wellness among the NSU community and to raise grant money for health-conscious NSU students. Not a fast runner? No problem. You can walk the whole way! And participants in wheelchairs can roll the distance!
At 7:30 a.m., 5K participants will be setting off from the Alvin Sherman Library, and at 8:30 a.m., kids will have a chance to zoom around a fun-run course. The entrance fee for alumni and their families is $12 each, which includes a free Shark Shuffle t-shirt for the adults and a goody bag for the kids. To pre-register online and get more information, go to http://www.rec.nova.edu.
You’re also invited to The Shark Shuffle Expo in the new NSU University Center on September 22, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. You can register for the race and pick up your race packet, and experts will be there, offering educational sessions on biomechanics and gait training, injury prevention, and strength training; exhibitors and sponsors will be giving away free stuff; and you’ll have a chance to tour the facility.
