NSU Athletics Welcomes New Members to Coaching and Athletic Training Staff
The NSU Athletic Department welcomes three new members to the Coaching and Athletic Training Staffs for the 2006-07 school year.
Dana Ferguson was recently hired as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team by Head Coach Marilyn Rule. Dana previously served as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. She was a four-year letterwinner as a player for the Tigers, was an all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection and placed second in voting for SCAC Player of the Year her senior season. She graduated in 2003 from DePauw with a Bachelor of Arts degree in kinesiology.
NSU Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Larry Starr recently appointed Amy Reckard and Zevon Stubblefield as Assistant Athletic Trainers on his staff. Amy is a Certified Athletic Trainer who earned her Master of Science Degree in Exercise & Sports Science/Advanced Athletic Training from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. A native of Fort Lupton, Colorado, Amy worked as an Athletic Trainer for FIU and Hollywood Hills High School.
Zevon is an experienced Certified Athletic Trainer who also comes to NSU from Florida International University, where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Advanced Athletic Training and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Florida. He has previously worked as an Athletic Trainer for Everglades High School and for FIU. He is originally from Cooper City, FL.
The NSU Department of Athletics wishes several former employees all the best as they have recently chosen to pursue opportunities outside of south Florida. Head Athletic Trainer Tricia DeSouza was named Head Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Rowing Team at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, while Sports Information Coordinator Eddie Kenny has accepted the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and External Operations at fellow Sunshine State Conference member institution Saint Leo University. Additionally, Assistant Athletic Trainer Latissa Eisenberg has relocated to her home-state of Texas. We appreciate their dedication and loyalty during their tenure at NSU and wish them all the best on their new career paths. |
