NSU Hosts 2006 Broward Walk for Autism Research – Saturday, April 22, 2006
The Broward County Walk for Autism Research will be held at Nova
Southeastern University on Saturday, April 22. The event brings
together thousands of individuals and families to raise funds for
critical scientific research and to increase awareness about this
growing health crisis. Last year’s Broward walk, also
held at NSU, drew more than 2,000 walkers and raised more than
$200,000.
The Walk for Autism Research was created in 2000 by the National
Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR). The event raised almost $9
million nationally. NAAR
recently merged with Autism Speaks, an international non-profit
organization founded by NBC Chairman/CEO Bob Wright and his wife,
Suzanne.
Sponsors of the Broward Walk for Autism Research include
Nova Southeastern University, Jamba Juice, Whole Foods Market,
The Bagelers, Cusanos Bakery, Maggie Moo’s
Ice Cream and Treatery, and Bonefish Grill.
For more information about the walk and how to join the effort
