I am pleased to announce that
I will be joining you as a member of the Nova Southeastern University
Alumni Association. On June 25th, I will be graduating from
the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship
with a Master’s
degree in International Business Administration. I am proud to
become an alumna, and I am looking forward to taking advantage
of the benefits my membership in the NSU Alumni Association will
bring.
More importantly, I am excited for the opportunity
I will have to give back to the university by serving as a student
mentor. If you are also interested in sharing information with

Health Care Centers to Launch "Designing Lifestyles with Diabetes,"-
Wednesday, June 1, 2005
Do you have diabetes? Do you have questions about incorporating healthy
choices into your daily activities? Would you like to learn how best
to take care of yourself from licensed health care professionals? If
so, NSU’s Health Care Centers are launching an eight-week program
on June 1 that will help you address those questions and more. Professionals
participating in this free clinic will come from a variety of disciplines.
They will include a certified diabetes educator, a nutritionist, an
occupational therapist, an optometric physician, pharmacists, a physical
therapist, a physician, and a psychologist.

Tampa Alumni Event- Friday June 3, 2005

recent graduates at the NSU Tampa Graduation Recognition. The event

College of Optometry to
Host Continuing Education Program on Pediatrics- June 4-5, 2005 NSU’s
College of Optometry will host Topics in Pediatric Optometry
and Binocular Vision on June 4-5, 2005. Unique for this conference,
the program includes 9 credit hours of CEE/TQ courses and 2 credit
hours of regular CE courses. In addition, an infants’,
toddlers’, and preschoolers’ workshop with young patients
will be available for the first 28 registrants.
Reduced rates are available for alumni, as well as those who register

Glaucoma
Update 2005- Sunday, August 21, 2005
NSU’s College of Optometry will present Glaucoma Update
2005 on NSU’s main campus August 21. This university-level
continuing education program for optometrists will offer courses
of excellence held in state-of-the-art facilities in the NSU
Health Professions Division educational complex. Unique to
this conference, the program includes six credit hours of TQ
(Florida)/CEE (COPE) courses and two credit hours of regular
CE courses.

MIBA Alumni Chapter Hosts Supply
Chain Management Presentation
The MIBA alumni chapter offers its members more than a good time.
They provide them with industry related learning opportunities. On
Monday, May 16, 2005 the MIBA alumni chapter hosted guest speakers
Ronaldo Marques, Down Stream Procurement Manager, and MIBA alumnus
Alex Ordman, Regional Supply Coordinator from ChevronTexaco Latin
America. The guest speakers shared with the group their extensive
knowledge about Supply Chain Management, an important topic for our
International Business alumni. The members left with a greater understanding
of the business supply chain process and are looking forward to the

New Jersey Alumni Chapter Spring Brunch
Down the Shore
What better time than spring to have brunch by the water? The New Jersey
Alumni Chapter recently hosted a Spring Brunch at Point Pleasant Beach in New
Jersey on Sunday, May 15, 2005. The event was a hit, with nearly 20 members
in attendance. Brunch was held at the landmark Lobster Shanty Restaurant where
New Jersey alumni enjoyed a full seafood buffet overlooking the beautiful Atlantic
Ocean and Manasquan River waters. Among topics discussed, David Weintraub,
New Jersey Alumni Chapter President spoke about the changes taking place to the
main campus with the construction of the new University Center currently underway. Members
are looking forward to their next event. |

H. Wayne Huizenga Featured
in Huizenga School’s Distinguished Lecture Series
Business
mogul and community leader H. Wayne Huizenga was a
featured speaker at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of
Business and Entrepreneurship’s Distinguished
Lecture Series on May 11, 2005. The lecture, sponsored
by BankAtlantic, drew more than 450 people to the DeSantis
Building Atrium. In attendance were NSU students, faculty,
staff, and others, including students from Dillard High
School Junior Achievement. Community leaders in attendance included
Joe Amaturo, Jack Abdo, Alan Levan, Albert Miniaci,
Tony Segreto, August Urbanek, Tom Miller, and Steve
Shelton.
