NSU and USDLA Team up to Tap into the Need for Distance Learning Experts
Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School
of Education and Human Services, in partnership with the United
States Distance Learning Association, will continue its cutting-edge
Distance Learning Leaders Certificate Program (DLLCP) with two
new sessions this summer. Designed to tackle the emerging needs
of today’s managers for new leadership skills, distance learning
knowledge and applications, best practices, and hands - on activities,
the sessions are scheduled for June 10-11, 2005 in Ft. Lauderdale,
FL and July 12-14, 2005 in Orlando, FL.
The two- and three-day site based programs,
followed by a six week online component, provide leaders responsible
for directing overall distance education and training initiatives
with the critical skills needed to succeed in a distance learning
environment, including establishing strategic direction, procurement,
implementation, distance learning management, and evaluation.
DLLCP is designed for professionals in a wide
range of positions including Chief Learning Officers, Higher Education/University
Distance Education Directors, Training Directors and Managers,
Educational Technology Directors, and Teachers. “This is a must-take course’ for anyone
in the distance learning industry”, said Dr. John G. Flores, Executive
Director of the USDLA.
Classes for the June DLLCP will be held at
the state of the art wireless and interactive technology center
at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology
Center at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Classes for the July DLLCP will be held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, in Orlando, FL in conjunction
with the universities annual Conference on Global Leadership, Learning,
and Research.
