Admissions Timelines
This Admissions Timeline focuses on important dates to remember, such as admissions and financial aid deadlines.
Early Fall
Obtain an application for admission to NSU. Complete the application and forward it with a $50 nonrefundable application fee to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Upon receipt of all necessary documentation, admissions decisions are made.
December 15
All health profession dual admission programs have a December 15 priority application deadline and require an interview. If you are interested in one of our dual admission programs, see our dual admission brochure or the dual admission program requirements.
Application Deadline for Winter Term
If you are starting with NSU in January (Winter term) the application deadline is two weeks prior to the start of classes. Please refer to your admissions counselor for specific dates.
January
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Complete and submit the FAFSA online as soon as possible after January 1 and before March 1 to be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid.
April 15
The Priority Deadline for financial aid is April 15th each year…but don’t wait until April! Many grants are based on a "first come, first served" basis and funds do run out!
Early Spring
Financial aid award letters will be mailed to students as awards are made. Award letters will continue to be mailed throughout the summer.
Application Deadline for Summer Term
If you are starting with NSU in May (Summer term) the application deadline is two weeks prior to the start of classes. Please refer to your admissions counselor for specific dates.
May, June & July
Enjoy your High School graduation and begin to think about summer orientation. Register for the next available session where you will begin to make the transition into the NSU family.
Submit all paperwork for housing options. Deposits are required and housing is filled on a first come-first serve basis. Check with the Office of Residential Life and Housing for specific steps to reserve your room in the residence halls.
August
Attend Welcome Week, meet new friends, get involved, go to class and enjoy being a member of the newest class of NSU Sharks!!!
