Dual Admission - Speech
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) Speech-Language Pathology
A dual admission program in speech-language pathology is offered to qualified freshmen and transfer students. This program leads to a master of science degree in speech-language pathology (M.S.). This specialized career field is concerned with the identification, assessment, and treatment of speech-language and communication disorders in children and adults. Graduates of this program hold responsible positions in public and private schools, hospital and clinics, and private practices.
Students admitted to the program may select any one of the undergraduate majors that are offered. In addition to their majors, students must complete the 28-credit-hour speech-language specialty. Upon successful completion of the master's application process, students will be admitted to the graduate degree program in speech-language and communication disorders. This program provides the necessary coursework and clinical experiences necessary to obtain Florida Department of Education certification, Florida licensure, and the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
