Dual Admission - Education
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.)
NSU offers a dual admission program to qualified transfer and current students who are interested in a challenging and rewarding career in the education field. Successful completion of this program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) and a Master of Science (M.S.).
Students must first successfully complete an undergraduate degree (B.S.). On successful completion of this degree and dual admission requirements, students are fully admitted to continue their graduate program at The School of Education.
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Education offers 50 different specializations from which to choose at the graduate level. Many of these specializations, as well as the M.S. in Instructional Design and Diversity Education, lead to additional certification areas for educators seeking to diversity what they are able to teach. The M.S. in Leadership affords graduates the opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership skills within their respective organization.
Most of the Master of Science degrees can be obtained in one year utilizing evening, weekend, and online course delivery options. Others such as the Educational Leadership program require an internship, thereby lengthening the program's duration. Courses are often taught by faculty still acting as teachers, specialists and administrators within local school districts who will offer instruction based on actual practices and realities within schools and other educational settings.
