About Our Clinics

Adolescents treated by ADAPT generally are referred for possession of marijuana/ paraphernalia, petit theft, disorderly conduct, trespassing, and use of alcohol under age 21. Additional reasons for referral include difficult peer relationships, defiance, school problems, and low self-esteem.

ADAPT customizes each client's treatment based on the presenting problem, parental concerns, and deficits evidenced by the assessments used at intake. The interventions used have been proven effective through research studies for the above-mentioned issues.

The clients of the ADAPT Program are seen by psychology trainees who are closely supervised by Vincent B. Van Hasselt, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist. He has more than 20 years of experience as a clinical practitioner, administrator, consultant, educator, and researcher.
